In the Name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful On August 20, 2026, H.E. Dr. Rahimi Jahanabadi, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Islamic Republic of Iran to Bangladesh, attended the swearing-in ceremony of the new President of Bangladesh. The ceremony was attended by the Prime Minister, cabinet ministers, high-ranking governmental and military officials, as well as members of the diplomatic corps. Mr. Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir was elected by the Parliament on the preceding day as the 23rd President of Bangladesh, securing 255 out of 349 parliamentary votes.
